Police arrested a Brandon man overnight after a driver in the city said he had a gun pulled on him as he was giving a ride to a hitchhiker.
Brandon police say a resident called around 11:30 last night, telling them a male had come to the back door, yelling for him to call police. When officers arrived, the complainant said he had picked up a hitchhiker on Rosser Avenue East, but ran from the car when the hitchhiker reached behind him.
Police located the complainant's vehicle and found a male lying down in the back seat with a loaded semi-automatic handgun under the driver's seat next to him.
A 19-year-old Brandon man was arrested and was due in court this morning.
