A collision on Winnipeg's Perimeter Highway involving an 18-wheeler and three other vehicles has killed two people.
Police say a multi-vehicle collision occurred yesterday afternoon at the intersection of Pipeline Road and Highway 101. According to early investigation, a semi failed to stop at a red light and hit the driver's side of a minivan, spinning both vehicles into oncoming traffic.
The driver and a passenger of the minivan died. A child in one of the other vehicles had minor injuries and has been released from hospital.
Police say alcohol is not considered a factor and the investigation continues.
This is the third fatal collision in Manitoba since Tuesday.
