In the last two years a race in Brandon has raised almost $25,000 for Lung Disease and expectation are high to raise even more this year.
The Manitoba Lung Associations Awesome Race for Breath is coming up where participants receive clues to find 12 pit stops around Brandon where they will complete fun and amusing challenges before racing to the finish, just like the TV show The Amazing Race.
Westman Area Coordinator for the Manitoba Lung Association, Gail Campbell says this is the third year of the race.
"One in five Manitobans cope with lung disease everyday and it's a bigger problem then most people realize. So in this way the teams can help someone to take an easier breath and they can also have a day of fun while they are supporting a good cause. So it's a win win."
Campbell says, if you register your team in before mignight on the 27th your team will automatically receive race advantage cards.
Teams of two have to raise a minimum of $200 each to earn their spot at the start line.
The race is on Saturday, October 15th at The Town Centre in Brandon.
