Ukrainian Settlement in Canada continues to be recognized by Dauphin.

The Trembowla Cross of Freedom recently celebrated there 125th anniversary of Ukrainian settlement in the country. The commemoration was to inform and educate residents about the fundamental impact that Ukrainian pioneers had in developing Dauphin as a community.

Secretary for the historic site, Kay Slebozian says a particular monument was erected in honor of these contributions. She said, "We honored the settlers in the way of a bench... this will be placed beside the cross of freedom at the site."

The Trembowla area is home to St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, currently the oldest preserved Ukrainian Catholic church in Canada.
