A young girl was airlifted to a Winnipeg hospital after reportedly nearly drowning at Elkhorn Resort.
Cam Heke, STARS communication lead for Manitoba, says they took a child from Minnedosa hospital to the Winnipeg children's hospital yesterday.
"It was a near-drowning situation that occurred -- reportedly involved a swimming pool -- the patient was brought to the hospital in Minnedosa by ground ambulance and then STARS arrived in the community by 6:25."
RCMP say they were called to the scene around 5:30 yesterday afternoon, and by the time officers and EMS arrived the 3-year-old girl had been given CPR and was conscious and breathing.
