Premier Brian Pallister says Manitoba's trucking industry will be one of the big winners as a result of a new internal Canadian trade deal reached by the country's premiers and territorial leaders.
The removal of trade barriers between provinces came to dominate this year's premiers conference in Whitehorse as provincial leaders saw the possibility of getting a deal done.
Pallister says Manitoba's sizable trucking industry will benefit from more streamlined regulations that will save trucking firms time and money.
He says other industries will also benefit from less red tape in trading with other provinces.
An inter-provincial working group will be established to harmonize regulations.
