July 31st is going to be an exciting time for some Parkland Farmers.
Three families from Ste. Rose, Dauphin and Grandview will be taking part in Harvesting Hope that is in conjunction with the Manitoba Thresherman's Reunion and Stampede.
Doug Storey of Grandview is taking part in the event and says that his family puts on threshing shows on their farm from time to time.
"We would you know, cut a field with a binder and then we'd pick a day and invite all our friends and neighbours over and we would have a threshing day."
Storey says his whole family will be there as a team on two different thrashers.
Harvesting Hope is where 600 pioneer farmers and 125 antique threshing machines from across Canada will harvest a 75 acre field of wheat in minutes to set a new Guiness World Record and all money raised will go to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
