It's going to be a hot couple of days in Southern Manitoba, so trying to stay cool is going to be on everyone's list.
Medical Officer of Health with Prairie Mountain Health, Jas Atwal gives some tips to help you be prepared for the heat.

"So you want to make sure you are hydrated and that you are drinking lots of fluids, especially water. You want to limit your caffeine or alcohol intake, you want to wear loose fitting clothing, a hat, you want to try and stay indoors if possible just to cool down if you have air conditioning."

Atwal adds that although everyone can suffer from heat illnesses, infants and the elderly are affected a lot more.

"But what happens first is you know with a little bit of fluid loss and if you are to climatise to the heat you might get a bit more fluid loss, you'll get headaches, nausea, you can get dizziness, your blood pressure could drop, you could actually have a fainting episode as well."

Special weather statements have been issued for some parts of southern Manitoba with temperatures above 30 as well as high humidex levels
