The United Kingdom's decision to leave the European Union sent shock waves throughout the country and around the world.
Here in Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke earlier today respecting the decisions made by the British. Although the decision may not have an immediate effect on smaller communities like Dauphin, Mayor Eric Irwin feels the decision will inherently impact Canadians.
He said, "The bigger picture in all of this quite frankly is that governments around the world have spent the last 30 years attempting to make more and more trade deals."
Mayor Irwin added, "We don't even know who is in the European Union anymore."
Leave Campaigners were hailing the result as a victory for British Democracy, while those who voted to remain are expressing sadness, anger, and even panic.
