In the recent poll research conducted by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) suggests that 71% out of 605 Manitobans support reinstating the secret ballot vote for union certification.
CFIB's Vice-President Prairie and Agri-business, Marilyn Braun-Pollon says they are pleased with the government in moving forward with modernizing our labour laws.
"And also moving Manitoba forward. You know, we are uncompetitive in so many fronts this is one where it just makes a lot of common sense that brings Manitoba back in line with the majority of other Canadian provinces."
But, Kevin Rebeck, President for the Manitoba Federation of Labour says he doesn't know why this government is trying to change the rules.
"We think there has been good labour peace and balance in Manitoba. So, we're not sure what problem they're solving. There haven't been complaints or issues raised.'
Secret ballot is a voting method in which a voter's choices in an election or a referendum are anonymous.
