The plan to replace the City of Brandon's first street bridge is ongoing with the first phase of construction continuing on the northbound lanes.
The design will include new features like a bigger sidewalk for pedestrians, wider shoulders on the bridge and more room for the Assiniboine river crossing.
Executive Director of Structures for Manitoba Infrastructure, Ruth Eden says, "Traffic is flowing really well through the site. Everyone is driving safely through our sites and there really hasn't been a line up at all."
The $50 million dollar project funded by the provincial government is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2017.
