Dauphin's Salvation Army is closing up shop at the end of this month.
Divisional secretary for the Prairies Major Rob Kerr says, the decision was not made lightly, but there was a couple reasons why it's closing.
"We've got some sustainability issues there with funding for the programs that we were running and in conjunction with that we also know that most of the services that we were offering are also being offered by someone else in the community."
Kerr says that all the inventory that is in the building will be dispersed as best as they can.
"Things that have been donated by the community we'll be trying to leave in the community. We'll be trying to figure that out as we go. There is a lot of decisions that need to be made still in how we disperse those things."
The Salvation Army has been in Dauphin for 116 years.
