Manitoba Hydro says this morning's power outage was likely caused by a system fault at the Dauphin Vermilion Station.

Hydro Public Affairs Officer Bruce Owen says the outage, which started around 9am today, affected most homes and businesses in the Dauphin area, and as far away as Grandview, Camperville, Riding Mountain, and even Onanole, which is on the south end of Riding Mountain National Park.

Hydro crews were able to correct the issue in less than half an hour, and are still working to determine the exact cause of the outage.
