The Winnipegosis Playground Committee is looking at a more than $100,000 cost for phase two of a new playground at the local elementary school.

Carlene Lukey, treasurer with the committee, says a quote came in today pegging the cost at about $105,000.

Lukey says now that the quote has come in they can start applying for provincial grants.

Phase one was done last fall and included replacing playground equipment that had been condemned.

Phase two involves replacing the large wooden structure at the playground, which was not condemned, but is described as old, rusty, and falling apart.

Mountain View School Division is funding the ground preparation for the project and helping with installation; the rest of the funds are to be raised by the playground committee.

The committee is currently raising funds by selling chocolates at $2 a box.

The committee was hoping to complete phase two this fall, but Lukey says it's looking more like next fall.
