Manitoba RCMP are trying to raise awareness about fraud.
They say fraudsters are using increasingly sophisticated methods.
One common scam involves phone calls from people claiming to be Canada Revenue Agency representatives, demanding money or personal and financial information.
RCMP also say there have been complaints from residents in multiple jurisdications saying they've received phone calls from people claiming to be police, and asking for personal information. Police do not ask for financial information and do not accept payment for infractions over the phone.
March is fraud prevention month.
