Students at Henderson Elementary school are skipping for a good cause!
Today is the day that kids jumped rope in many different ways for the Heart and Stroke's Jump Rope For Heart event.
Gym Teacher, Tanya Love says that they had a fundraising goal of $4,500 dollars this year.
"We allow our kindergarten through grade 6 students to all collect for the cause. And we have a few more envelopes trickling in, but we are well over $7,500 to date."
Love says that the students love skipping so much that it wasn't hard to get them on board with fundraising. And as a reward the teachers decided to include some fun incentives for the students.
"We also said that if we could reach our school goal of $4,500 dollars we would do a fun assembly with some of the kids being allowed to pie their teacher. The top fundraising class would also get a lunch and get to play in a dodge ball game with the Stomping Staff, which is our staff intramural team. So those incentives helped.
The event went on all day for all grades to participate in.
