Manitoba's Tourism Minister, who was originally from Dauphin, has officially announced his retirement from politics.
Ron Lemieux says he had a nasty health scare last month while on vacation in Arizona.
He has fully recovered since having surgery, but believes it was a wake-up call.
He says he wants to use his retirement to allow him to spend more time with his family.
Lemieux currently represents the Dawson Trail Constituency near Winnipeg, and will not be seeking re-election in April.
