People gained a lot more knowledge of diabetes this past weekend.
The Parkland Diabetes Expo was put on by the Canadian Diabetes Association to give people a better understanding about preventing diabetes complications and foot care.
Dauphin MLA, Stan Struthers says that it's good for people to attend these type of expos and take something they may have learned from it, and bring it up to the decision makers in the government to do something about it, because that's what he has done.
"A very good example would be the work that people have done through the Canadian Diabetes Association in helping me understand the importance of insulin pumps. Which I then took back to our government and we covered, so that people actually out there living with diabetes would have some support."
This was the 21st year that the Canadian Diabetes Association has put on this expo in the Parkland.
