Kids at Roblin Elementary School were learning about agriculture this morning.
Dauphin farmer Ernie Sirski was there as part of Ag in the Classroom.
He says he's been doing this for about 10 years. He says the kids get an understanding of where some of their food comes from, and he tries to explain the economics around farming as well.
"I try to explain to them what kind of investment we have to make a living. And it's pretty interesting how -- because I relate it back to their house and to their car, and how much my combine costs -- it's pretty interesting what kind of reaction you get from them."
This week is Canadian Agriculture Literacy Week. Sirski will be presenting at Barker school in Dauphin on Friday.
Sirski says more information needs to be out there on agriculture, particularly primary agriculture.
