Manitoba Public Insurance says license plate validation stickers are being eliminated as of March 1
Manitoba RCMP Inspector Joanne Keeping says the stickers are no longer necessary, as the province's police cars are equipped with technology that instantly recognizes license plate numbers, and can a vehicle's registration status.
MPI Vice President Ward Keith says the move will also add convenience for customers, and help to keep costs down.
Customers renewing their Autopac policies after February 29 will be issued blank stickers to cover up the existing stickers on license plates.
