Two Syrian refugee families may soon be making their way to Dauphin.
Dauphin Inter-Church Refugee Team Coordinator Ron Marlin says one family consists of a mom and dad, and kids aged seven, four, and one. The other has a mom, dad, and grandmother, as well as a three and one year old.
Both families are currently living in a refugee camp in Jordan.
Marlin says the churches are in need of kids supplies for the incoming families.
"When you look at each of the two families that have been tentatively identified having a one year old, well that might mean that we have to track down a couple cribs, and for transportation purposes, again, with the ages of the kids, there's going to be the need for car seats."
If you would like donate money or supplies to the incoming refugees, you can contact the Dauphin First United Church, the Dauphin First Baptist Church, or St. Viators Roman Catholic Church.
The two families are currently on the "hold" list with Immigration Canada, meaning they know a reputable group is looking to sponsor the families, and it is now a matter of processing the necessary files. Marlin hopes the refugees will be able to come to Dauphin in the next month or two.
