Some Manitoba high school students will be getting a taste of post-secondary life through the University of Winnipeg's High School Enrichment Program.
Mountain View School Division will be sending six of its students.
Superintendent Donna Davidson says the program is great for students who aren't sure if university is for them.
"This one week of class experience provides them with maybe that sense of 'Yeah, I can do it,' maybe that sense of 'Yes, I do belong in a university environment."
Students will get a sample of university-level courses in fields like computer science, indigenous studies, health care, and sociology.
High School Enrichment Program Coordinator Rebecca Stephenson says the program gets many of the students excited about learning.
"It's a good first introduction to the University of Winnipeg. They're learning about topics they wouldn't normally cover in class."
The U of W Enrichment Program began in the spring of 1984.
