Judge Margaret Wiebe is going to be the next chief judge of the provincial court of Manitoba.
 
Attorney General Gord Mackintosh announced the appointment today.
 
Wiebe went to the University of Manitoba and began her career in civil and commercial litigation in Brandon and Winnipeg.
 
After serving in several roles within the Canadian Wheat Board, she was appointed to the provincial court of Manitoba in December 2012.
 
Her appointment as chief judge comes into effect in July for a non-renewable term of seven years.
