The Salvation Army of Dauphin still has a ways to go to reach its Christmas kettle fundraising goal, although Major Grayling Crites says so far, they've had a good fundraising season.

The Dauphin chapter is hoping to raise about $18,000 this holiday season.

Major Grayling Crites says they're about $4,000 away from that, and the deadline is quickly approaching.

"We still have about a week left to go yet. So we have a lot of people on Saturday helping, and we we're hoping to get close to that by the time the end results come."

Winnipeg's Salvation Army announced today they are $144,000 short of their goal.

The Salvation Army of Dauphin is looking for more people to volunteer as bell ringers for the final week. If you would like to help out, you can call Major Grayling Crites at 204-648-7744.
