The RM of Portage la Prairie has launched a new smartphone app to open communication and enhance public services.
The app is called "RM of Portage" and is developed by All Net, a firm in Winnipeg.
The app will allow residents to submit and track public service requests, receive notifications from the RM, and view council agendas and decisions.
Reeve Kam Blight says it's about running the municipality more efficiently and effectively, adding that new technology will provide greater access to activities and services.
All Net President Vern Sabeski says he's excited to have a Manitoba municipality to be the first to use their app.
