The House of Commons returns this week, and Dauphin's MP is excited to get to work.
Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa MP Robert Sopuck is now part of the Official Opposition for the first time in his political career, and was recently named the Wildlife and Conservation Critic.
Sopuck says he'll be looking at all legislation from a local, rural perspective.
"I want to make sure that our agricultural industries are looked after, the transportation issues are dealt with, I'll be watching as well for any movement they might make on firearms laws. I think we have good firearms laws now that our government put into place."
Sopuck also says he wants to ensure the Highway 10 infrastructure project in Riding Mountain National Park goes to completion.
