There's still time to adopt a family under Dauphin's Community Christmas program, which is a joint effort between the Catholic Women's League, the Dauphin Friendship Centre, and the Dauphin and District Food Bank.
Laverne Hudson is the coordinator for the CWL's adopt a family program. She says the more she can adopt out, the less stress is placed on the DFC's Angel Tree program and the food Bank to fill the rest.
"I believe that there's 259 hampers needed for the Christmas program this year and right now I'm at 111 families that have been adopted, of that."
To help out, Hudson says you can call her at 638-6013 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
You can adopt a family up until December 14. Hudson says hampers are picked up on the 16th so everything has to be ready on the 15th.
