Local hunters have a chance to win a trophy, for their trophies.
Saturday marks the annual awards night for the Dauphin Fish and Wildlife Association.

Vice President Ted Wojtowicz says if you want to enter the deer head competition, you can enter your heads before the night starts.

"You can take the heads between 2:00 and 5:00 Saturday afternoon, you can bring in your heads an drop them off. That way that gives us time to measure the heads up and then at 5:00 the doors are closed. At 7:00, the doors reopen to the public and you can still enter a head after 7:00 between 7:00 and 8:30. This way it gives us time to get the heads judged and entered for the competition."

Wojtowicz says awards will be given out for different sizes of antlers, in juniors, mens and ladies categories.

There will also be awards presented for fishing and also a plaque for the oldest hunter of the year.

The awards night starts Saturday at 7:00pm at the 8th avenue hall.

Tickets can be purchased from Hometown Auto Glass, Sticky's Bait and Tackle, Black's Cycle and Sporting Goods, or from any wildlife association member.
