You can attend a free luncheon next week in Dauphin in recognition of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

The Parkland Crisis Centre, along with the Status of Women and the Women's Advisory Council, are inviting several guest speakers to discuss issues around violence and exploitation of women around the world.

Parkland Crisis Centre executive director Kari Prawdzik says in 2014 alone, their crisis centre received over 1,400 crisis line calls regarding domestic abuse, and assisted close to 1,500 women and children at the shelter.

The Luncheon will take place at the Dauphin Friendship Centre December 3 from 11:45 to 1pm. You can confirm your spot before the end of tomorrow by calling the Crisis Centre at 204-622-4620.

The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is December 6.
