Manitobans can now learn about addictions services and resources through a toll-free helpline and website.
Healthy Living Minister Deanne Crothers says the website is confidential and has a short list of questions to target what the best facility to reach out to would be for a person's specific needs.
"I think one of the things that is important for people to understand is that addictions are treated differently depending on what the addiction is, so we want to get people connected to the right place."
The helpline was launched this week, during Manitoba Addictions Awareness Week.
There is also a walk-in option located at River Point Centre in Winnipeg.
The line is run by the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba.
AFM CEO Ben Fry says the hotline was established because many people with additions just don't know where to go to get help.
"Knowing where to call or how to access the right services can be kind of confusing, so this one-stop-shop, this helpline, really allows for people to call one central place and be able to access a range of information."
The hotline can be reached any time by calling 1-855-663-6605, or by visiting the website, MBAddictionHelp.ca.
