No one was hurt Tuesday morning when a Brandon business owner is said to have been taken hostage.
Sergeant Kevin McLean of the Brandon police says a man entered a Brandon business around 7 Tuesday morning armed with a long rifle.
The suspect is accused of taking the business owner out into his own car in the parking lot.
The suspect then allegedly tried to force the man to drive to another location to find someone else.
It's alleged the suspect threatened to shoot that individual, the hostage, and himself.
Police arrived on scene, having been notified by someone else in the business, and took a 35-year-old man into custody at gunpoint.
Sergeant McLean says the hostage and the suspect were known to each other.
