Downtown Dauphin is getting a new look, but it's a step-by-step process.

Mayor Eric Irwin told city council last night that he's been told a new parking lot on 2nd Avenue Northeast is getting lots of traffic.

He says the next step in the downtown redevelopment will be the installation of and painting of new light standards.

Manitoba Hydro is replacing the City of Dauphin's street lights with LED lights, so Irwin says the only cost to the city will be $2,000 for a powder-coating paint job.

The painting is expected to be done in the spring.
