The month of November is National Diabetes Awareness Month and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation says it is their month to make Canadians aware of what Type one diabetes is.

Julie Andaloro, the JDRF's national manager of communications and public relations, says their theme for the month this year is "T1D Looks Like Me."

"We will be posting these remarkable photos, videos, and stories on our social media channels throughout the month of November. We're encouraging Canadians to share these wonderful posts, use the hashtag #T1DLooksLikeMe, and donate to help JDRF do better for these remarkable and amazing people who we support through research."

As part of the awareness month, JDRF will be holding a number of events at their local chapters across the country on November 14, which is World Diabetes Day.
