The graduation rate for Mountain View School Division is moving up, but it's still behind the province as a whole, which has also seen its grad rate go up.
Superintendent Donna Davidson says Mountain View is dealing with smaller numbers than the province.
"The province is dealing with thousands of students that graduate, so we'll see a fluctuation-- you know, we have ten more students graduate and we could see a graduation rate of 80 per cent, because we're working with such small numbers."
The provincial graduation rate for June 2014 was 87 per cent. For June 2015, if you exclude students who moved from the division, MVSD had a grad rate of 71 per cent for students enrolled in grade nine in 2011.
Manitoba`s grad rate is determined by comparing the total number of graduates in high schools with total grade nine students enrolled in those schools four years earlier.
