Manitoba Premier Greg Selinger made a couple stops in Swan River this morning.
The premier announced that the Swan Valley Regional Secondary School will be getting a new construction trades facility, and that the school will also be getting new skills training equipment.
The building of the facility will begin in spring of 2016, and it will support training in carpentry, general construction skills training, electrical construction, and later a plumbing trade program.
Selinger was also in attendance for the grand opening of the Swan River Day Care Centre's new facility, which can now care for up to 101 children.
The province contributed $200,000 to the cost of purchasing and renovating the new centre.
