If you think you make the best chili in Dauphin, the sixth annual chili cook-off is less than two weeks away.

The cook-off is an event put on by the Parkland Mental Health Promotion Committee.

Committee member Eleanor Snitka says they want to show that having a social support network and finding pleasure in our lives is important to everyone's mental health.

"So we're trying to have organizations, workplaces, groups of people, have some fun and do some, you know, some teamwork and kind of social networking together, or getting together socially and having fun. So we do that by asking people to make a pot of chili."

The cook-off is October 7, during Mental Illness Awareness Week at the Dauphin Friendship Centre.

Snitka says show up early because there have been lines in the past.
