Dauphin's first ever Red Shoe Crew Walk takes place this Saturday in Vermillion Park.
Event organizer Curtis Kaleta says they've managed to get a ton of support from the community already, and he's expecting the weather to cooperate and have a successful event this weekend.
"We've got about 25 walkers registered for the walk right now, hopefully by the end of the week we get a few more as well. We've got quite a few volunteers to help us out with the walk, it wouldn't be able to happen without the volunteers and also without the walkers, so it's great to see the the community has come forth with a few walkers."
Kaleta says they'll be accepting registrations right up until the start of the walk on Saturday morning.
"On Saturday, we're doing a light breakfast with coffee and muffins and stuff from 9:00 to 10:00, then a warm-up at 10:00, then the walk starts at 10:15."
Runners will also be collecting pledges to support the Manitoba Ronald McDonald House.
Kaleta says he personally has collected over $1000 in pledges.
