A squirrel is to blame for a major power outage in Dauphin today.
Scott Powell with Manitoba Hydro says there was a major outage out of the Mountain substation that affected about 800 urban customers.
"Including a couple of schools and apartment buildings from around 1:14 this afternoon to just before 3 o'clock."
Powell says a squirrel hit one of the lines.
He says Hydro has re-routed power and everyone is back on but there will have to be a permanent repair done tomorrow. He says he doesn't believe the repairs will require power to be out.
