Dauphin's household hazardous waste day has come and gone, but people don't have to wait for that one day to properly dispose of such items.
Fire Chief Cam Abrey says the fire department accepts cell phones and batteries, though not car batteries, on a daily basis. E-coil accepts oil, anti-freeze, filters, and the like. And Parkland Recycling will take paint, light bulbs, and e-waste.
Yesterday's household hazardous waste collection day saw 149 vehicles drop off items. The waste included things like paint, pesticides, adhesives, propane tanks, e-waste, plastic containers, oil filters, oil, antifreeze, and batteries.
