More rain is needed in the northwest region of Manitoba, according to the province's latest crop report.
Although it says Ste. Rose and The Pas are reporting adequate moisture.
Crops in the northwest are said to be in good to fair condition overall, but pasture and hay fields are in below average to poor condition.
The report says dry conditions are keeping disease pressure generally low but the conditions have stunted cereals growth in some fields.
The report's provincial summary says smoky and hazy conditions may have helped buffer temperatures and benefited crops in drier areas of Manitoba.
