Algal blooms have been found at Christensen Beach on Dauphin Lake.
The province has posted an algae advisory sign there.
As well, the province issued a precautionary advisory about Dauphin Lake water last week after a dog suspected to drink water from the lake contaminated with algae toxins died.
RM of Lakeshore Reeve Clinton Cleave says they've been told if algae is present, don't drink the water, don't use the water, and don't eat fish from it.
"Basically what we're worried about is people swimming, there are some people using that water as tap water that live along the lake, pet owners, and livestock owners. You know, basically, better start keeping an eye on the herds and maybe check the shoreline to see if there's any algae there, in case the cattle are using that for a water source."
