Starting Wage: $40.61 /hour
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Supervisor of the In-House program, or the Supervisor of Community-based programs, and working within an integrated multi-disciplinary team, nurses are required to provide services to clients engaged in addiction recovery and treatment. Clients will be engaged in community-based OAT treatment or residing in a co-ed treatment facility. This position requires a commitment to a client-centered philosophy and approach to the development, provision and support of programs and services.
Qualifications:
-Registered and licensed to practice in Manitoba with a Bachelor of Nursing (BN), Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
-Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba standards, Scope of practice documents, Regulated Health Professionals Act, PHIA, Mental Health Act code of ethics
-Applicant must possess two year equivalent FT experience in working with vulnerable populations (i.e. Mental Health, Addictions/Recovery, and homelessness populations)
-Knowledge of and experience in working with individuals engaged in addictions recovery and treatment
-A minimum of one (1) year experience with individual and group counselling; minimum one year nursing experience; proven knowledge of current nursing theory and practice.
-Valid C.P.R. certificate
-Successful completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
-Successful completion of Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
-Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information Technology
-Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
-Demonstrated problem solving and decision making skills
-Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position (recovery oriented practice, trauma informed, harm-reduction philosophy, clinical assessment skills, and a client centered practice within a nursing scope)
