DOLLY PARTON - HEALTH

Dolly Parton says yes, she's been sick _ but it's nothing like what's been making the rounds. The country star says ``there is absolutely no truth at all that I have stomach cancer.'' She does say, however, that she has had a problem with kidney stones. She says those were removed three weeks ago and she is now ``doing just fine.'' Rather than chastise those spreading stories that weren't true, Parton says she loves and appreciates everyone's concern.

JAY-Z - COPYRIGHT SUIT

Jay Z didn't have much flow during a high-profile appearance in Los Angeles yesterday. But that was O-K since the appearance was in court, not on stage. The rapper and producer Timbaland are being sued by heirs of an Egyptian composer of a 1957 tune that has elements featured in Jay-Z's 1999 hit ``Big Pimpin.' Jay-Z told the jury he believes he had a valid license to use the song. During his hour and a half on the stand, Jay-Z often gave one-word answers, but also used humour to lighten the mood at times. When the plaintiff's lawyer tried to show him something Jay-Z had written in a book about his lyrics, the rapper said: ''You can read it from over there.``

MUSICIANS - WHITE HOUSE

U-S President Barack Obama says one of the things that makes America great is that ``we turn life into lyrics.'' The show included performances by Guy, Usher, James Taylor, Queen Latifah, Smokey Robinson, Esperanza Spalding, MC Lyte, Audra McDonald, Trombone Shorty, Keb' Mo' and Brian Stokes Mitchell.
