The main camp roster continues to shape up for the Swan Valley Stampeders. They've added 1999 born Tommy Cardinal.

Cardinal, from Quebec, played 53 games last year with the Whitecourt Wolverines, where he had seven goals and nine assists.

Swan Valley picked Tommy up in exchange for Vincent Duplessis.

"We were always planning on flipping Vincent for some scoring and that's what we did," said Geoff Grimwood, Head Coach & General Manager. "We're really excited about Tommy coming to Swan Valley."

Prior to joining Whitecourt last year, Tommy played 111 games in the QMJHL, most of which came with Shawinigan.

"Everything we've heard about Tommy is great. He's got a great character and he's going to be a leader," continued Grimwood. "We think he's going to be a guy that's going to get on the scoresheet for us."

Swan Valley opens up main camp on August 30. With less than three weeks to go, Grimwood is ready for his first camp as the head coach and general manager of Swan Valley.

"I think we're going to have a very competitive camp. For me being new here, there's a lot of new faces to get to know and I'm looking forward to that," he concluded. "Our scouting staff has done a real nice job. I think we're going to have a really good time this year."

Swan Valley opens up their preseason on September 2 in Dauphin against the Kings at 7:30.
