Around 5:30 yesterday morning Selkirk RCMP received a call of a 53-year-old man who was overdue. He had gone fishing the previous evening, as was normal for him, and had not returned home. His vehicle and trailer were found at the beach early Friday morning.

Officers from Selkirk RCMP, Police Dog Services, Search and Rescue along with the assistance from the Canadian Forces Joint Rescue Coordination Centre and the East Beaches Fire & Rescue conducted a search by air, land, and water with no sign of the canoer at this time.

The investigation is continuing.‎
