The Dauphin Clippers hockey team has hit a dozen wins.
Competing in the Westman High School Hockey League, Dauphin made their way to Minnedosa to play the Chancellors on Tuesday night and are coming back to Dauphin after a dominating 6-2 win.
Dauphin never trailed, leading 2-1 after 20 minutes, 4-2 after 40 minutes, and 6-2 after the final buzzer. Josh Yakielashek led the way for Dauphin with two goals. Layne Wolfenden, Julien Lopez, Noah Hanneson, and Norman Lacquette also scored for the Clippers in the win.
With the victory, Dauphin is now 12-4 on the season and are competing for the top few spots in the league. It's now time for some home cooking as Dauphin hosts Crocus Plains on Friday night at 7:30 at Credit Union Place before hosting the league-leading and undefeated Vincent Massey Vikings on Saturday afternoon at 4:30.
You can pull off a double header of hockey action at Credit Union Place on Saturday. Following the Clippers game, the Parkland U-18 Rangers welcome the Winnipeg Bruins to town at 7:30. The Rangers are coming off a great weekend as they secured three of a possible four points. They're going up against a Bruins team that is in third place, three points behind the Wheat Kings for first overall. Six Dauphin Kings prospects are on the Bruins.
