It was a milestone night inside Credit Union Place on Friday.
As Dauphin battled back to earn two points, the win marked Doug Hedley's 400th win behind the bench of the Dauphin Kings. Hedley led the team to a Turnbull Cup title in 2022 and now has the team off to a 9-4 start.
Cayden Glover's seven-game goal streak was snapped in the game but he noted after that the main priority is two points, which the Kings were able to secure. Ethan Williment (5) scored the game-winning goal for Dauphin in the third, the Kings trailed 3-2 early in the final frame.
Matthew Thomas (4), Gavin Nemis (3), and Daniel Helary (2) scored for Dauphin in the victory.
Paired with the Blizzard only earning a point in a 3-2 shootout loss to Waywayseecappo, the Kings are just a single point behind Norman for first place in the West Division, with a game in hand which will be extended to two games on Saturday as Dauphin is idle.
At 9-4, the Kings will return to game action on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. as they welcome Jayce Legaarden and the Flyers to town for a rematch of last Sunday's game.
