Things are just about set to go for the start of the Telus Cup Midget West Regional Thursday.
The Host Committee held their final meeting before the start of the tournament Wednesday night at Credit Union Place and there are lots of positives going into the weekend.
Co-Chair Ron Hedley says everyone is ecstatic about how things have gone.
"We're really happy with the way the ticket sales have gone, we expect we're nearing 500 or just over 500 passes sold so far."
Another item selling like hot cakes are tickets to the banquet Saturday night with guest speaker, former NHLer Theo Fleury.
Hedley says they`ve sold over 450 tickets to the event.
"With the addition of Theo Fleury it's nice to have him back in the Parkland and we're very happy with the numbers. It's sounds like it's gonna be an incredible meal and a great set up, so it should be fun."
The tournament gets underway Thursday at 4:30pm when the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League Champion Pembina Valley Hawks take on the Saskatchewan AAA Midget Hockey League Champion Regina Pat Canadians. At 7:00pm Opening Ceremonies will take place, that's followed by the second game of the day between the Parkland Rangers and Kenora Thistles.
