Dauphin's Thomas Scott is in a very good spot after round one of the Canadian junior boys golf championship at the Rivershore Golf Clubs.

The top five finisher at the Manitoba provincials fired five birdies into the back of the hole during round one and finished at -2. As of posting, he's seven strokes behind the top scorer and is in a tie for 19th.

He was even par thru 15 holes during his opening round when he got into some trouble. He bogied 16, made a seven on 17, and another bogey on 18. His four over has him in a tie for 111th.
