The hockey season continues to inch closer and closer everyday and for the Dauphin Kings, that means training camp is right around the corner.
Before the team's prospects and main camp, however, they will hold a minor hockey development camp next month.
The team has partnered with Park Fit. The first three groups will spend time both at Credit Union Place and with Park Fit staff throughout the day.
"We've catered to parents that are working this year," said Doug Hedley. "Parents can still go to work in the morning and they can pick up their kids after work, it's a great situation."
Hedley says not only does joining the camp give athletes something to do during the week, but it's also beneficial to get back on the ice ahead of training camps beginning.
"Any kind of on-ice development after being away from the game for so long is extremely beneficial for any player," ended Hedley.
After this camp, the Kings will hold their prospects camp from August 25-27 before the Parkland U18 Rangers hold their camp. Dauphin's main camp is September 3-5 with the team's preseason beginning on September 7 against the Swan Valley Stampeders in the annual rookie game.
